Totalitarian State Capitalism is what China practices which has become, unfortunately, the "Free Market Capitalism" model folks naively assume most of the West still practice but they don't. Authoritarianism seems to be the preference the West has adopted. In short, an open authoritarian Fascistic model in order to keep power, change and control. Confuse We The People with meaningless and often counter-intuitive narratives to keep the population in a state of constant confusion, which is the point of the exercise as "The State" is looted from under their feet by those who Swore and Constitutional Allegiance to protect them. The "Enemy" is also variable depending on the circumstances and unspoken and sometimes stated or implied goals.

Conformity is the expectation and those that don't will suffer under the growing and increasingly ruthless Technocratic Control "The State" has adopted and the majority of it's citizens have adopted the very same mechanisms in order to monitor, analysis and Control. How many do you know who don't have a "Smart Phone"? I can count them on one hand. They are holding the Sheath and even paying huge amounts of money initially and an ongoing monthly fee for it and not realizing another holds the dagger for that sheath...........to their throats.

Technocracy and Technocrats are a very ruthless, smart, conniving, sometimes charming-as Psychopaths tend to be, and dangerous, greedy group of folks. In the long run, as this model of Totalitarian Control has been adopted, it is a fragile concept and will not last as log as those who chose this model to hoist upon a Nation---Free Will is the Nature of Man, not false and open hostilities towards those you had Sworn to Represent, Protect and Nurture--Fomenting France in 1789 may be their expectation at some level or a preference would be a much more profitable un-Civil War. The pseudo-intellectuals who have been advising these Administration's for decades clearly don't really understand who actually butters their bread. The Nature of Man will emerge and in contrast to the fake fraudulent types like a Tucker Carlson will be found out and his Bread Buttterer will then be known--No Mr. Carlson, unlike yourself, I am not capable of committing atrocities against my fellow man as you stated that I am able to do. His false humility is a guise in order to, again, control We The People for his handlers. Take the bit out of your mouths folks and the harness will just slip off. Run Free!

God Bless And Protect All Here.

Love One Another---there are implications in doing so. Understand that.

Appreciate this. You're exactly right about China, and about the West drifting toward a similar fusion of the state, corporations, and technology. I'd also add that AI is pouring fuel on the fire. I fear that one day I may wake up in a world where I look back on my days in the USSR almost fondly.

The Outlaw's avatar

Yes, the irony indeed. Back In The USSR is indeed a sad yet realistic view of what we are becoming, but not yet. If one had studied the White Papers and listened to the soft toned speeches of those in power, Central Bankers, primarily but not always and joined by whom I refer to a Castle Dwellers of European decent, had determined what was the best way to "Handle" the citizenry.

The CCP Model was chosen over 100 years ago by these same and many nations have adopted such tactics, soon and to their regret soon. It is being shifted ever so gently to a Neo-Feudalism society as practiced in India. This combination of Authoritarian, Totalitarian Capitalism into a hybrid combining Neo-Feudalism with the previously stated will be the undoing of the entire concept of false control. Anger will be the output of their control concept but the recipients of and backlash expected may not indeed fall upon those who devised such an evil scheme.

The open looting by the Trump family is reminiscent of the so called collapse of The Soviet Union---as this ruthless, Treasonous piece and his family and associates will soon learn the Power of Collective Justice. The combination of his Greed and Stupidity will be his and his ilks undoing. It won't be pretty but The Nation under another form of some kind of Democracy will survive. Republics and that form of government are just too easy to become corrupt and corruption a way of life rather than an anomaly as it had been. The History Books will not be kind to Mr. Trump or anyone even remotely associated with him.

God Bless, my Friend.

Yes, this is a long drawn out battle .... War ! century's long .... millennia long !

The Outlaw's avatar

and there are only about 8000 members of the CCP which are backed by these same Power Structures such as The Crown (The City of London), The Rockefeller's and The Rothschild families--the same families who control The Crown/Soviet asset "Israel" who's current inhabitants will be........sacrificed, to say it politely. The valuable strategic location will be kept but its inhabitants will soon be changed and the fools who live there have no idea they are just cannon fodder for the Oligarchs. Routes & Resources is all that matters to these "controllers"--how many Rothschilds or Rockefeller's or for that matter, Trumps live there? That number would be ZERO!

Yes. The world is a lot different than Mormon thinks it is.

Wow….so China is controlling the silver market AND oil. Guess I should learn some mandarin soon 😬

Lau Vegys's avatar

As someone who enjoys learning new languages and even gave Mandarin a try, I can't really recommend it... but you never know. One day we might all be forced to. 😬

Hi Lau, I appreciate this profound analysis and it’s very interesting. Nevertheless investments in oil companies and oil service companies would have been very interesting as well. Personally I am invested in those and it was foreseeable, even without Hormuz crisis, that they will pay off, and that is still my conviction for the longer future. What are your thoughts on that?

Excellent work Lau. And also excellent work from China. I look forward to the second part.

great article! i was wondering why too

Hasn’t China been dumping sovereign debt and buying gold too? Dollar is headed to $0 while interest rates, inflation, unemployment move higher. Has the feeling of an apocalypse where someone is going to show up looking for payment and the til is empty. Prep pray and organize locally.

' The world genuinely did need saving.

Now you know who saved it, and how.

As for why they did it... well, that’s next week’s Part 2. And I suspect it’s not the reason you’re expecting. '

--------------

I have my own take on "why" China (CCP) did it. And when I look at the whole picture, including who saved it, I don't see China (CCP) as the sole "who" who did it. And this War is a continues War that has been going on for 1,000's of years (Divide and Conquer), but took on whole new levels, based on the advancement in technologies and understandings.

One of the great leaps starting 500 to 600 or so years ago, which was the Venetians and Banking, which was moved to the Venetian/Dutch and in turn to the English/Dutch and to today with the Anglo/American Empire, which is a combo of Divide & Conquer, Banking/Financial Controls, and the Digital Technology we have today.

My take on what happened was that the "who" isn't China, alone ! it's includes: China, Russia, India and The Trump Administration - The New America. And it's not everyone in these Groups, as there's still many spies and saboteurs embedded, from the old Empires of the Anglo/Dutch/American and probably Venetian Empires).

But today the key enemy is the Anglo/American Empire, whose grip (stranglehold) has been on the World for the last 50 plus years, the largest ones being the control of Money, Energy and the Drug Trades (be they legal and illegal drugs ..... well the "legal" (Pharma) to a large extent are illegal/corrupt/dangerous).

PS: I'm not saying that President Trump is a sweetheart, far from it, but he and his key people over the years (12+), have exposed so much of what we thought was truth and honesty ...... isn't (it's why I like to call him AGENT ORANGE (a play on the Vietnam Defoliant to expose the enemies in the Jungle and his early days when he was tanning and using tanning lotion, which gave him a tanned/orange look).

I didn't quite understand the calculation of what could replace the missing 15 million barrels of crude oil per day.

-- “Well, first you have the bypass pipelines. Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline has a nameplate capacity of around 5 million barrels per day. The UAE’s Habshan-Fujairah line adds another 1.5 million. Combined, that’s 6.5 million barrels per day on paper. And we’re being generous here, because pipelines rarely run at their full nameplate capacity.” --

According to Wikipedia, the East-West Pipeline actually has a capacity of 7 million barrels per day. That should fit with the generous estimate, since pipelines rarely operate at their full rated capacity. But oil that was needed somewhere has already flowed through these pipelines. So how can I count this oil toward closing the gap in the Strait of Hormuz? That would create a new mathematical gap in the places where the oil has been flowing so far. Shouldn’t we actually just use the difference between the previous average daily flow and—if the flow has increased—the current flow, or—if the volume is unknown—the maximum possible flow?

The situation is similar with China. Can the portion by which China reduces its imports—because, in return, it no longer exports processed oil—be counted toward the 15 million barrels of crude oil that are missing each day? That oil is now missing in the countries to which China used to export. These countries must now obtain their oil from elsewhere, and as long as production cannot be increased elsewhere, that oil is missing somewhere in the world.

Doesn’t this mean that the total daily volume of crude oil is actually greater than 2.9 million barrels? And doesn’t that make it all the more puzzling why the oil price isn’t rising more sharply? Or is the economy—especially in Europe—now in such poor shape that demand for crude oil there has fallen so sharply?

Thanks for the article. It seems to match up with what happened but maybe was done with different motivations. China traditionally has deep reserves and uses it to pull back on oil imports when prices are over a certain amount and that was the case in the first half of the year. That's smart shopping, not necessarily a master class in crisis management. They didn't do that to save the world from $200 / barrel oil out of the goodness of their hearts. It was business as usual. And they have their Mongolian coal reserves to fall back on. The last I checked, they still are at about 50% coal usage for energy.

Lau Vegys's avatar

Thanks. I don't think China was trying to save the world from anything. I clearly said I'd be talking about the "why" in Part 2. I mean, who on earth believes China does anything out of the goodness of its heart? I'm sorry if that was your takeaway.

Now, on your "smart shopping" point: I'm afraid that doesn't hold up. A bargain hunter buys the dip. The moment crude prices fell back, China should've been back in the market. It wasn't. It kept drawing down its reserves even when refilling them would've been the cheaper move.

Ok. Good points. I appreciate the explanation
